Successful Workshop at the AI for Good Global Summit: Navigating the Intersect of AI, Environment, and Energy for a Sustainable Future
We’re proud to share that our workshop at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva on Thursday, July 10th was a great success!

Organized by Gitta Kutyniok (one of the PIs of our gAIn – Next Generation AI Computing project), the session focused on the critical intersection of AI, sustainability, and energy—core themes of the gAIn initiative.
The workshop explored:
🔸 The environmental footprint of AI and innovations improving its efficiency
🔸 How AI can drive sustainability across industries by optimizing energy consumption and reducing waste
🔸 The importance of standards, policies, and governance for responsible AI development
Participants gained valuable insights into the technologies enabling more sustainable AI, the regulatory frameworks needed for responsible progress, and the collaborative efforts required to advance green digital solutions.
The event aligned closely with the International Telecommunication Union’s Green Digital Action initiative and helped spark meaningful conversations on building a sustainable digital future.
